Jeffrey Tambor Returns To The Ridgefield Playhouse With New Acting Classes
Make 2021 the year that you take your acting aspirations to the next level! With Zoom classes at The Ridgefield Playhouse beginner and advanced acting students will have the opportunity to work with Golden Globe Award-winning actor Jeffrey Tambor (The Larry Sanders Show, Arrested Development, Transparent), with two new workshops – Scene Study Tuesdays, January 26 – March 16, 2021 and The Art of the Personal Monologue Mondays, February 1 – March 22, 2021.
Jeffrey Tambor Will Host A Creative Workshop At Ridgefield Playhouse
Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Jeffrey Tambor (a?oeThe Larry Sanders Show,a?? a?oeArrested Development,a?? a?oeTransparenta??) is bringing his 6-week creative workshop, Performing Your Life: The Art of the Personal Monologue to The Ridgefield Playhouse, Tuesdays, 7-10pm, October 15 - November 19. Over the past four decades, Tambor has been an inspiration both on and off-screen, bringing many iconic characters to life while cultivating a uniquely personal approach to his craft. Tambor's workshop guides actors, writers and directors through the art of the personal monologue in a hands-on exploration of process. This empowering class focuses on identifying and conquering the fears that keep us from trusting our own creative voices. The class culminates with a performance on November 22 on The Playhouse stage, starring some of the students of the class showcasing the monologues they have worked on. Students will walk away from this workshop with a five-minute monologue a?" perfect for an audition -- as they move on with more courage, confidence and creativity in their career. This workshop is part of Adam Broderick Salon & Spa Whole New You Series with support from Reliance Merchant Services. Scholarships are available through the Beth and Bruce Becker Scholarship Fund.
EDWIN, THE STORY OF EDWIN BOOTH to Bring Stage History Off-Broadway This Fall
For their inaugural offering, Great Circle Productions will present the world premiere of EDWIN, The Story of Edwin Booth, a dramatic musical that commemorates the 150th Anniversary (1866-2016) of the legendary actor's return to the stage, as well as the 400th Anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare, with music by Marianna Rosett, and book & lyrics by Eric Swanson.

It's adult ed with a new kind of beat at The Ridgefield Playhouse when Emmy Award-winning songwriter/performer Kevin Briody teaches Songwriting on Thursdays for eight weeks - September 18 to November 6 -- 7:30-9:30 p.m. in The Ridgefield Playhouse Rehearsal Studio. The syllabus includes how to structure ideas, develop melody, lyrics and instrumentation and record a song! This class is part of the Hamlet Hub A Whole New You Series.
Top Drummers Mark Schulman, Daniel Glass, and Bruce Becker Announce 'Triple Threat' Drum Camp
World-renowned drummers, educators, authors and instructional DVD creators Mark Schulman (P!NK/Foreigner), Daniel Glass (Brian Setzer/Bette Midler) and Bruce Becker (Mike Stern/Ron Carter) will debut their first-ever drum camp July 18th - 20th at the Hilton Woodland Hills/Los Angeles located at 6360 Canoga Ave., Woodland Hills, CA. Produced by MUSO Entertainment, the Triple Threat 3-day drum camp offers a limited number of students the chance to play with and learn from three of the world's most experienced, educated and passionate drummers in an ultra-intensive, intimate classroom setting and a full day in the recording studio. At the camp each student plays along with the instructors on an individual practice drum kit allowing for an incredibly intense, hands-on educational experience that guarantees results. Each student will also receive playing time analysis in the Drumchannel.com recording studio.

Katie Torpey, an award-winning WGA screenwriter/filmmaker with an MFA from UCLA Film School, has worked for numerous networks and studios and sold several screenplays including the 2005 romantic comedy The Perfect Man (starring Hilary Duff, Heather Locklear and Chris Noth). With a good idea for a movie, those inner talents that are dying to be discovered can be honed with a little help from Katie.
