Britney Frazier received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatrical Performance from San Francisco State in the Spring of 2013. Throughout her career ,she has performed with: Shotgun Players in Bulrusher as Vera, Lorraine Hansberry Theatre’s production of Fabulation as Stephie ,The Voyage with Shotgun Players as Miss Chamberline and Katya , In a Daughters Eyes at Brava Theater as Rehema Salaam and most recently in Rapunzel at the Marin Theatre Company as Rafi. Brit can also be seen performing with the Femikazes which is a Berkeley based, all female sketch comedy troupe. In 2012, Brit was a proud co- creator in one of the livest (Yes, LIVEST) collaborations ever in, Cal Shakes’s, Intersection for the Arts’ and Campo Santo’s Artists Training Program (The Triangle Lab).There the focus was creating and exploring the roots, avenues and confines of storytelling with one ear to the streets. In the summer of 2012, Brit was honored to join forces assistant directing Jip; His Story, with the renown Bay Area, theatrical visionary, Ellen Sebastian Chang ,at the San Francisco Marsh Theatre. This year, Britney has worked as an Artistic Associate at the San Francisco Playhouse under the advisory of Bill English, Artistic Director of the San Francisco Playhouse, producing a new works, staged reading festival in Feb. and March of 2013 called, “Our Voices, Our Stories”. The “Our Voices, Our Stories” staged reading festival featured over twenty plays written by local African American and female playwrights in celebration of Black and Women’s history months and featured the talent of thirty- six local actors and about ten local directors. Britney made her directorial and playwright debuts in the February festival at the SF Playhouse, directing the workshop performance of Love Balm for my SpiritChild by local playwright Arielle Julia Brown and with a staged reading of her original one- act, Obeah. And in the summer of 2013, Brit directed Lost Secrets of the Iron Triangle at the East Bay Center for the Arts in Richmond.“I feel so blessed and fortunate to have been exposed to and learn from some of the best of in the Bay Area…so excited for the future.”
