New Shorts and Special Events Added to SUNDANCE Lineup
Works selected across the Indie Episodic, Shorts and Special Events sections of the 2020 Sundance Film Festival were announced today, underlining Sundance Institute's commitment to showcasing bold independent storytelling regardless of form, format or length.
Sundance Institute Announces 2019 Creative Producing Labs & Summit
Sundance Institute today announced Fellows and Advisors for the five-day 2019 Creative Producing Labs, as well as the three-day Creative Producing Summit which immediately follows; both take place at Utah's Sundance Mountain Resort. The Labs begins July 29, and the Summit August 2. These are the flagship convenings for the Institute's Creative Producing Program, which champions and develops current and rising generations of producers across fiction and nonfiction film.
42nd Asian American International Film Festival Announces Film Lineup
Presented by Asian CineVision, the 42nd Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF42), and taking place July 25 – August 3 in New York City, has announced its full film lineup. The first and longest running Asian interest film festival in the country, AAIFF42 will be presenting 12 narrative features, 9 documentary features, and 67 short films, from 19 countries.
Tribeca Film Festival Announces 2019 Short Film Lineup
The 18th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its 2019 lineup of 63 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 31 world premieres. This year's shorts program includes a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers, curated from a record 5131 submissions with female filmmakers directing 45% of the selections. The short films will be presented in 11 distinct competition programs, consisting of six narrative, four documentary, and one animation program. There will also be special screening programs for the annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival and the debut of shorts from The Queen Collective, a program aimed at accelerating gender and racial equality behind the camera. The 2019 shorts lineup is programmed by Sharon Badal and Ben Thompson. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.
2018 Indie Memphis Announces Annual Awards
Indie Memphis Film Festival is pleased to announce this year's award recipients. This year's festival spanned from November 1st through November 5th and proudly boasted an extremely diverse roster of filmmakers, with fifty percent of the films in the Narrative Competition directed by female-identifying filmmakers and fifty percent are directed by people of color; in the Documentary Competition, forty-three percent directed by women and seventy-one percent by people of color.

Indie Memphis Film Festival is pleased to announce the full slate of films for its 2018 incarnation, spanning from November 1st - 5th, 2018. Together, they embark on a supernatural Afrofuturistic adventure in a desperate attempt to survive the wilds of New New York.
Orion Classics Acquires North American and Latin American Rights to JINN
Orion Classics has acquired all North American and Latin American rights to the upcoming drama JINN. Written and directed by Nijla Mu'min (Dream), the film stars Zoe Renee (BET's The Quad), Simone Missick (Netflix's The Defenders), Kelvin Harrison, Jr. (Monsters and Men, Luce), Dorian Missick (Lucky Number Slevin), Hisham Tawfiq (NBC's The Blacklist) and Kelly Jenrette (Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale). JINN made its world premiere at this year's SXSW Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Award for writing. The film also won awards at the American Black Film Festival for Best Screenplay and Best Actor (Zoe Renee), the Blackstar Film Festival for Best Feature Narrative and Audience Award and at the Roxbury Film Festival for Best Narrative Feature. Orion Classics will release the drama in theaters on November 15th and on VOD and Digital HD on November 16th.
Las Vegas Film Festival Makes Initial Programming Lineup Announcement
The 11th Annual Las Vegas Film Festival, partnered with CineVegas,announced this morning the initial programming lineup for the 2018 Festival, to be held at Brenden Theatres and Palms Casino Resort June 6 – 10. The lineup includes a mix of feature films and documentaries that have been favorites on the international festival circuit, as well as new additions to this year's Festival - live discussions and live comedy. 2018 also marks the first year with seasoned film festival programming veteran Mike Plante serving as the Festival's Captain of Strategy.

Other TV credits include 'Insecure', 'Mick and Molly', and 'Glee'. You may also know his music which he releases as DRTV. Ari has also produced films that have premiered at Fangoria Fear Con ('Curse of the Siren') and Sundance ('Clara's Ghost'). Original plays include Theatricus Americanus (Pack) and Dick Duquesne Radio Plays (Open Space). As director, he is currently rehearsing Solo Must Die: A Musical Parody to play the Hudson Backstage Theatre beginning Friday May 4.
