BIO

Briana Maia graduated from the University of Connecticut with her BFA in Acting. Most recent credits include: Chloe in "A Pint of Understanding" (Bill Bordy Theatre), Nettie in "The Color Purple" and Peaseblossom in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Shakespeare & Co.) Favorite Connecticut Repertory Theatre credits include: "Big Love" (Lydia), "Legally Blonde: The Musical" (Pilar), "Much Ado About Nothing" (Hero), "Hairspray" (Lil Inez/Dynamite),"Intimate Apparel" (Mayme), The World Premiere of "I'm Connecticut" (Yunique/Deondra), and the Regional Premiere of "Odyseus DOA" (Maha).

Redhouse Arts Center Announces its 2016-17 Season

The Red House Arts Center is pleased to announce its 2016-17 Main Stage Season which features a high-flying mix of musicals, plays and performances. This will be a season of exciting transition for the organization as it prepares to move operations from its current home to the new Redhouse @ City Center. Red House Arts Center will present The Color Purple with music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray and book by Marsha Norman. Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker, this incredibly moving musical tells the story of a young woman who manages to triumph over adversity and find her own voice through the power of love. The show opens at Redhouse on December 5th and runs through December 20th.
