The Knoxville Opera Company Presents The 14th Annual Rossini Festival International Street Fair Today

Knoxville Opera celebrates the arts with a spectacular feast of dance, music and performance through Knoxville Opera's annual Rossini Festival International Street Fair today, April 25 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. The event is free to the public and draws attendees from around the region and country.

Knoxville Opera Partners with Gospel Choir for Special Concert Tonight

Multiple standing ovations by a large crowd who have shouted 'hallelujah' at the five previous performances of Knoxville Opera Goes to Church...A Celebration of Talent! The 5th annual concert, sponsored by Home Federal Bank, DV Communications, and The 5th Commandment Fund will feature the Knoxville Opera Gospel Choir and local soloists together with Knoxville Opera artists in a unique presentation of gospel, spirituals, and highlights from the popular opera Carmen. The free-admission concert, one of Knoxville Opera's yearly 75 education/outreachactivities, will take place tonight, January 24, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, 3800 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Knoxville.

The Knoxville Opera Performs CARMEN for Over 7,000 Students in Local Schools

The Knoxville Opera is thrilled to present its fourth school tour this month. Bizet's Carmen is the featured opera and showcases the music of Spain, including famous melodies and a cast full of charisma. Knoxville Opera board members are excited to continue the school tours, due to the previous three years of positive responses from students, teachers and school administrators. The performances are sung in English and feature Spanish costumes, scenery, and props. The school tour runs between now and January 16. This project is a part of Knoxville Opera's annual $150,000 Education/Outreach Program.

The Knoxville Opera proudly presents two performances of Gilbert & Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore tonight, November 21 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the city's hallmark Tennessee Theatre. Maestro Brian Salesky will host a special opera preview session 45 minutes prior to each performance. The musical comedy is perfect for a family outing or special date and is one of several productions offering cultural and entertaining variety throughout the Knoxville Opera's 37th season.

The Knoxville Opera Performs ELIXIR OF LOVE for Education/Outreach Program, 1/6-1/17

Following the overwhelming success of its previous two seasons' in-school performances, Knoxville Opera again brings a staged opera into schools this month. The performances in English of Donizetti's romantic comedy The Elixir of Love including costumes, scenery, and props, run from January 6th – 17th. This project is a part of Knoxville Opera's robust annual $150,000 Education/Outreach Program.
