BIO

Brian McManamon is an actor, teacher and acting coach in New York City. He received a 2010 New York Innovative Theatre Award nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance in It or Her at P.S. 122. In New York, Brian has worked with MCC Theater, The Ensemble Studio Theater, Youngblood, P.S. 122, Target Margin Theater, Theater Breaking Through Barriers, the BE Company and is an ongoing member of The Playground acting company at the Lark Play Development Center. Internationally, Brian traveled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival performing in the world premiere of Pulitzer prize nominee Rolin Jones' play The Jammer which received the festival's top prize, the Fringe First Award. He toured to Zagreb, Croatia with the critically acclaimed company Theater Breaking Through Barriers, a company of sighted, visually impaired and blind actors. Brian received a scholarship to attend the British American Drama Academy (B.A.D.A.) at Oxford University where he worked with Caryl Churchill on her opera Hotel: Eight Rooms and She Bit Her Tongue both directed by Mark Wing-Davey. Brian has played leading roles at regional theaters around the country including the title role in Hamlet at Burning Coal Theater and well as roles at Yale Rep, the New Repertory Theater, The Yale Cabaret, Boston Playwrights' Theater, Provincetown Theater Company, Capital Rep and others. Brian serves on the acting faculties of The National Theater Institute (NTI) at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and The Powerhouse Apprentice Training Program at Vassar College. Brian has a BFA in acting from the School for Theater at Boston University and a MFA in acting from the Yale School of Drama.
