Bergen County Players to Open 83rd Season with GUYS AND DOLLS
The Bergen County Players will kick off their 83rd season in high style with a production of the classic musical 'Guys and Dolls', celebrating the incredibly entertaining musical's 65th anniversary, over five weekends beginning Saturday, September 12th and concluding Saturday, October 10th. The curtain for Friday and Saturday performances will rise at 8 pm with Sunday matinees at 2 pm and will be presented at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road, in Oradell. The Bergen County Players presents its first Second Stage production of the year, Let's Murder Marsha, a comedy by Monk Ferris. There is no doubt that race is a sensitive issue, as borne out by numerous events across the nation over the past six months. It can be difficult to explore, and while many politicians and social scientists call for a national conversation, it is often the arts world that leads the way in holding up a mirror to American society about this topic. While most take a serious approach, the Bergen County Players, one of the region's most acclaimed theatre companies, has decided it is also possible to face the subject head on by presenting the wickedly funny and provocative Tony and Pulitzer Prize award-winning play Clybourne Park.
