BIO

Bret Michaels is a singer, songwriter and actor that became a rock icon as the lead singer of the metal band Poison. Outside of his musical career, Bret has starred in a variety of reality TV shows including The Celebrity Apprentice and Rock of Love. Bret also hosted Great American Country's Rock My RV, a series that transforms RVs into 21st century mansions.

In the 1980s, Bret and three others founded the band Paris - later renamed Poison. In 1986, the band released its first album, Look What the Cat Dragged In. Ten of the band's singles have made it on the Top 40 of Billboard Hot 100, and they have sold over 45 million records worldwide.
After a long run with Poison, Bret began recording solo albums and starring in television shows. He currently lives in Arizona with his wife and two daughters.

Michaels was injured during his opening performance at the 63rd Tony Awards on June 7, 2009. As he was ending his performance with Poison and exiting to the stage rear, a large portion of the descending set struck him on the head and knocked him down. The initial injuries reported was a broken nose. However, the hemorrhage incident in 2010 prompted Michaels to file a lawsuit for unspecified damages against the Tony Awards and CBS claiming the incident caused the hemorrhage. On May 14, 2012, the parties announced that they had agreed to settle the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.

Interview: Radio Royalty Sharpe Dunaway talks about ROCKSTARS and brushes with Greatness

Arkansas is saturated with an abundance of talent, whether it be on a theatrical stage, a concert hall, or on the radio. Quite often the talent overlaps from one avenue to the next. This can be said about Radio Royalty Sharpe Dunaway. Though he has switched from radio to videography (you know....video killed the radio star- Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes and Bruce Woolley ca. 1979), Sharpe has a lot of history when it comes to Arkansas entertainment. Broadway World’s favorite MC Blake Woodson sat down with Sharpe to reminisce about all of the Rockstars he has met over the years, but first we wanted to know how he got into videography.

Review: ROCK OF AGES at Music Theatre WIchita At The Capitol Federal Amphitheater In Andover, KS

WOW! What a fun show! I love some of the crazy lines that just pop up out of nowhere, like “Phil Collins can be kick ass sometimes!” Rock of Ages definitely lived up to its hype, and I was super fortunate to see this production. This well paced show boasted soooo many strong performances, I hardly know where to begin.
Review: ALCOHOL POISON at TCs Midtown Grill

What did our critic think of ALCOHOL POISON at TCs Midtown Grill? When I found out that my friend Sharpe Dunaway was debuting a Poison tribute band at TCs Midtown Grill, 1611 E Oak St., Ste 19, in Conway, Saturday, May 6, I knew I had to be there. Poison was every girl's favorite 80s hair band, and their images adorned our walls. We screamed 'I love you' in true hormonal rage every time they came on the radio. They said they wanted action tonight, and had it have been possible, we would have given it to them. So, when ALCOHOL POISON took the stage, I closed my eyes, summoned my inner teenage vixen, and partied to the sounds of my youth.

BWW Review: ROCK OF AGES Burns Down the House at The Lamp Theater

What did our critic think? Split Stage continues to provide a haven for adult-oriented semi-pro theatre. The plot, overly convoluted by design, parodies eighties movie comedies with a 'let's save the rock venue' stream of cliches that get mercilessly savaged. Wannabe rocker Drew (Gabe DeRose) can't seem to make a love connection with nubile waitress Sherrie (Raegan Hochman), while German real estate developer Hertz (Hank Fodor) and his effeminate son Franz (Caleb Feigles) attempt to turn the Sunset Strip into a strip mall. All this mixes with a stream of colorful characters like a hair metal rock god (Michael David Stoddard), a social reformer hippie (Clair Ivy Stoller) and pair of chaotic-bisexual club owners (Josh Reardon and Bill Elder).

Theatre Under The Stars bursts with Rock n Roll energy as they reopen at the Hobby Center after a 19-month intermission with Rock of Ages. On October 7th, Chris D'Arienzo's rock party opened to great applause as a nostalgic night out greeted Houstonians becoming a much-needed break from the turbulent world.
