Dr. Brent Alexander is a conductor, educator, and musical director, who has been enjoying a vibrant career in the greater Pittsburgh region since 1999. Brent is on faculty at Robert Morris University, where he is Director of Choral Activities, Coordinator of Applied Voice, and serves as a Musical Director for University productions. In 2016, he received the Outstanding Musical Direction award for RMU's invited Region II KCACTF presentation of Timbers and Friedman's Love's Labours Lost. Brent has held past faculty appointments at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama, and Carlow University. In 2008, Brent started working at Pittsburgh Musical Theater as an actor and musical director, continuing into the most recent season as a staff Musical Director, Resident Artist, and Music Coordinator. Since then, he as worked with many other regional companies, including Pittsburgh CLO, as Musical Director for Ruthless the Musical, A Grand Night for Singing and Side by Side by Sondheim. Brent holds a comprehensive DMA in Conducting from West Virginia University, an MM in Organ from Duquesne University and a BA in Music Performance from Indiana University of PA. Currently, he is a candidate for the Master of Business Administration degree from Strayer University.
