Review: LEOPOLDSTADT at Shakespeare Theatre Comany

Leopoldstadt, a weighty and ambitious work by award-winning author Tom Stoppard, is on stage now at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. Shakespeare Theatre Company Reveals Cast & Creative Team For LEOPOLDSTADT

Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for Tom Stoppard's Leopoldstadt, directed by Carey Perloff. The show is produced in association with The Huntington, where it completed a record-setting run earlier this month, ending up as one of the top five highest-grossing shows in the theatre's history.

Czech-born British playwright and screenwriter Tom Stoppard, 87, was the child of non-observant Jews whose family fled Czechoslovakia during World War II, just prior to Nazi occupation. Stoppard then spent much of his young life in India, and then Nottingham and Yorkshire in England, becoming the very essence of an intellectual Englishman.
