Review: ESTHER is for the faithful at A.D. PLAYERS
ESTHER thrilled the audience at the George, who gave it a rousing standing ovation. I suspect A.D. PLAYERS knows its audience, and they have given them a show that dazzles people who have come in the right context. It was not shown if the struggle of scripture versus spectacle was an issue for them as it was for me. If you love exquisite dancing and good singing. If you admire a company that does all of this in service of an Old Testament heroine, then ESTHER is a sure bet.
Review: AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY stuns at DIRT DOGS
Dirt Dogs’ current incarnation of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is the finest work they have done in over eight years at the MATCH, and it is easily among the best things running this year in Houston theater. This show is cast immaculately, technical design nears flawless, and direction is tight and wrought. It is operatic, it is epic, and it is a must-see for fans of excellence in theatrical arts.
Review: THE SOUND OF MUSIC Bursts with Spirit & Heart at A.D. Players
Oh, where to begin? This is the kind of show that reminds you that theatre is PLAY. And there’s simply too much genuine playfulness and joy happening over at A.D. Players for you to miss out on it. Whether you’re a diehard fan of THE SOUND OF MUSIC fan or it’s been a while since you indulged in it, I encourage you to make this show a priority during your summer trips to the theatre.

BWW Review: THE DIVINE SISTER Offers Nun Control at Celebration Theatre
Right now the world needs a good chuckle at the pious and prissy, and this production answers that divine calling with ease. If you're a devout Catholic or easily offended, maybe this one isn't for you. But if you can appreciate gender bending joined with slapstick camp you've found your salvation.
