An Grianán Theatre Presents THE ENEMY WITHIN By Brian Friel
Letterkenny's An Grianán Theatre embarks on its most ambitious production to date with a full professional production of Brian Friel's The Enemy Within. Starring Donegal native Seán McGinley in the lead role of Columba/Colmcille, the production will be one the key events in the Colmcille 1500, which celebrates the life and legacy of Colmcille 1500 years from his birth.

The Abbey Theatre, today, announced it will reopen its doors and welcome audiences back to the building for the world premiere of Una McKevitt's One Good Turn. Ireland's national theatre had previously announced that the play will stream live from the Abbey stage on 25th and 26th of June and be available, on-demand, until 10th July.

His vision of a haven for the local community to congregate for music, dance and lively discourse is perceived as a menace by the local establishment, including the Catholic Church, then at the height of their influence in Ireland. The church soon wield their political influence to banish the 'revolutionary' Gralton from Ireland.

Actor Bosco Hogan Appointed To The Board Of The Abbey Theatre
At a meeting of the Abbey Theatre's Board of Directors on 5 June 2018, actor Bosco Hogan was appointed to the Board of the Abbey Theatre for a term of three years. Bosco was appointed to the Board on a recommendation from the Selection Committee [Dr. Frances Ruane (Chair of the Abbey Theatre), Sheila Pratschke (Chair of the Arts Council) and Prof. Chris Morash (Vice-Provost of Trinity College Dublin)] and he will take up his appointment later this month.
