26th Annual Artios Awards Held 11/1
The Casting Society of America will fête their own on November 1, 2010, at the 26th Annual Artios Awards®. The Los Angeles award ceremony will be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel (reception will commence at 5:45 p.m. PST) and simultaneously at American Airlines Theatre in New York (reception will commence at 5:30 p.m. EST).

The world premiere production of 'Venice', which opened October 17, is a new musical with book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax and lyrics by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen, and additional music by Curtis Moore, is presented by Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as a co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre. 'Venice' continues through November 14.

The world premiere of Dael Orlandersmith's 'Bones' opened Saturday, July 31 at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Commissioned by CTG, 'Bones' ran for nine performances and will close on August 8, 2010, as part of DouglasPlus programming.

'Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo,' which had its world premiere at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre in 2009 and was named a 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist earlier this month, opens at the CTG/Mark Taper Forum at the Los Angeles Music Center on Sunday, April 25. It was announced today that Rajiv Joseph's darkly comic 'Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo' has been named as a finalist for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other finalists include 'The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity' by Kristoffer Diaz, and 'In the Next Room or the vibrator play' by Sarah Ruhl.

Carrie Preston (True Blood), Jennifer Morrison (House), Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight), Michael Shannon (Little Flower of East Orange), and Patrick Wilson (Little Children, Angels in America, All My Sons) have been added to the roster of presenters at tonight's Casting Society of America New York 25th Annual Artios Awards® ceremony at The Times Center, in the newly built New York Times Building (620 Eighth Avenue). Comedian Janeane Garofalo will host this year's New York reception that will commence at 5:30 p.m. Simultaneously, the Los Angeles award ceremony will be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel reception will commence at 5:45 p.m. PST.
