Westchester Broadway Theatre Closes Its Door
The Journal News has reported that Westchester Broadway Theatre has closed after 46 years and 217 mainstage productions due to the effects of the ongoing global health crisis.
Westchester Broadway Theatre Owners Commission History of the Venue
Bill Stutler and Bob Funking, owners of the highly successful WESTCHESTER BROADWAY THEATRE, in Elmsford, New York, have commissioned author GARY CHATTMAN to write an anecdotal history of the theatre. This fun, theatrical, narrative will date back to July of 1974, when AN EVENING DINNER THEATRE opened.
WBT to Offer Free Performance for Local Children's Homes
For the past 40 years, Westchester Broadway Theatre has donated a matinee performance of one of its mainstage productions each year to the children residing in the area institutions in Westchester County. This Year the children will be treated to our new musical production of 'SHOW BOAT'. THIS YEAR'S INVITES INCLUDE Andrus Children's Center, Children's Village, Green Chimneys, Sunshine Children's Home, Hawthorne Cedar Knolls, Pleasantville Cottage School, Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center, Lincoln Hall, Putnam Associated Resource Center, Cardinal McClosky Home and Diagnostic Center in Pleasantville. There will be over 400 children and chaperones attending this performance. Approximately 16,500 children & chaperones have attended since the program began.

At a fundraiser at Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford to benefit the Hudson Valley Honor Flight, WBT donated a portion of all ticket sales for the opening night of SOUTH PACIFIC. The $10,000 total donation was to sponsor the October 18th inaugural flight from Westchester, with the second flight following in April of 2015. WBT owners Bob Funking and Bill Stutler received a proclamation of merit from County Executive Rob Astorino for their efforts on behalf of the veterans. Scroll down for photos!

Albert Stanaj Receives Stepinac High School's Bob Fitzsimmons Memorial Scholarship
The Bob Fitzsimmons Memorial Scholarship, this year, is being awarded to Albert Stanaj, a 2012 graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School. He has been demonstrating an interest in theatre since the age of 9. Albert would come to Stepinac with his parents to pick up his older brother who was in rehearsal for SOUTH PACIFIC. Besides running around the theatre chasing other cast members' little sisters, Albert became a student of the theatre at that time.

A very special afternoon was had by all at the Wednesday, November 30th Matinee of Home For The Holidays at the Westchester Broadway Theatre. Representatives from several Veterans' assistance organizations including, Hope For Warriors, East Coast Assistance Dogs, New York State Veterans Home and Montrose VA Hospital, were in attendance. The occasion was the presentation by owners, Bob Funking and Bill Stutler, of checks to these deserving organizations totaling over $11,000. The funds were raised in a fundraiser event with the help of patrons of the theatre and members of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts who attended shows at WBT this Fall.
Veterans Hold Fundraiser with Westchester Broadway Theatre
Westchester Broadway Theatre continues to support veterans, having already raised over 10,000 dollars for Veterans. 'Of all the fund raising we do, supporting our returning Vets for their sacrifice is among the highest,' said Bob Funking, owner and producer.
Bob Fitzsimmons Scholarship For Theatre Recipient Announced
This year's recipient, of the Bob Fitzsimmons Scholarship is Brandon Russo, a senior at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. It will be awarded to him on Stage at Westchester Broadway Theatre on Thursday, March 31, 2011.
