Full Cast Announced for Theatre Royal Plymouth's MONSTER RAVING LOONY
Simon Stokes, Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Plymouth, today announces full cast for the London run of Monster Raving Loony. Samuel James reprises his role as Screaming Lord Sutch, alongside original cast members including Joseph Alessi, Joanna Brookes, Jack Brown, and composer/musician Tom Attwood and they are joined by Vivienne Acheampong who completes the cast for the London run. Set & Costume Design is by Bob Bailey with lighting design by Chahine Yavroyan, audio visual design by Duncan McLean and sound design by Gregory Clarke. Guest Director is Cal McCrystal (with a trademark bravura farce contribution).

BWW Review: ANITA & ME, Birmingham Rep, October 2015
Meera Syal's debut novel, Anita & Me, receives its world stage premiere at the Birmingham Rep this month. Famously autobiographical, this coming of age tale follows Meena, a 13 year old 'naff and uncool' daughter of the only Punjabi family in the mining village of Tollington. As the summer holidays begin, Meena becomes friends with the feisty Anita, envying her long blonde hair, her popularity and her freedom. However, as two cultures collide, Meena's world turns upside down and her outlook on life changes forever.
ANITA AND ME Stage Adaptation to Premiere at Birmingham Repertory Theatre
Meera Syal's much-loved novel bursts onto the stage for the very first time this Autumn. Adapted for the stage by the award-winning playwright, Tanika Gupta, and with specially composed music by Ben and Max Ringham, Anita And Me paints a colourful portrait of village life in 1970's West Midlands during the era of flares, power cuts and glam rock. Directed by Roxana Silbert, the production premieres at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 9 - 24 October (press night Tuesday 13 October, 7pm) before transferring to Theatre Royal Stratford East from 29 October - 21 November.
