Pacific Opera Project (POP) will continue its 10th Anniversary Season with a revival of its wildly popular 2012 Gone with the Wind-inspired production of Mozart's Così fan tutte on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 7pm; Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 3pm; Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 8pm; Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 7pm; and Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 3pm at the El Portal Theatre.
La Luna Quartet To Make Its Debut At Feinstein's/54 Below
FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents LA LUNA QUARTET in "LA LUNA QUARTET IN CONCERT" on March 28, 2019 at 9:30 PM. Soprano Stacy Dove, mezzo-soprano Sishel Claverie, tenor Blake Friedman and baritone Eric McKeever will present a program of famous operatic and musical theater tunes sometimes performed as they are meant to be and sometimes "Fach'ed Up", where each artist will perform selections outside of their normal voice type or gender. La Luna will also turn opera on its ear by taking famous arias, duets and ensembles and, with the help of the audience, improvise a new story on the spot. Improv + Opera = Making music without a GPS map. Who knows where we'll end up?

Showcase Of New Operas By AOP Emerging Composers And Librettists Announced
This fall, contemporary opera producer AMERICAN OPERA PROJECTS (AOP) will present COMPOSERS & THE VOICE: SIX SCENES 2018, a showcase concert of opera scenes from nine artists emerging in the world of contemporary opera. Audiences will get a first look at six wildly different new works invoking diverse settings such as the Arab Spring in Tunisia, a post-apocalyptic future, and a modern college campus and exploring a multitude of themes and concepts, including the emotional minefield of solar flares, the dissonance of fundamentalism in urban and regional communities, and the nature and validity of Opera itself. The composers Matt Browne, Scott Ordway, Frances Pollock, Pamela Stein Lynde, Amber Vistein and Alex Weiser, and librettists Laura Barati, Kim Davies, andSokunthary Svay, were chosen by AOP to spend a year creating new works in its bi-annual fellowship program Composers & the Voice (C&V). The evening will be hosted by C&V Artistic Director Steven Osgood.
York Symphony Orchestra Announces 2018-2019 Season HEROES!
The York Symphony Orchestra is proud to announce the 2018-2019 season, HEROES!, featuring performances inspired by musical heroes, national heroes, heroes from olden times, sports heroes and even superheroes. HEROES! will offer audiences twelve performances, including six Classical Series concerts, four Pops Series concerts and the annual Young Person's Concert.

AOP (American Opera Projects) and Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood have selected six composers and three librettists to receive fellowships for its upcoming ninth season of Composers & the Voice. The 2017-2019 season will train, and present new works from, composers Matthew Browne, Scott Ordway, Frances Pollock, Pamela Stein Lynde, Liliya Ugay, and Amber Vistein and librettists Laura Barati, Kim Davies, and Sokunthary Svay. The primary focus of Composers & the Voice is to give emerging composers and librettists experience working collaboratively with singers on writing for the voice and contemporary opera stage.

Resident Ensemble of Professional Opera Singers Selected for AOP Training Program
AOP (American Opera Projects) announces the six singers who will become its Resident Ensemble for the upcoming ninth season of its Composers & the Voice training program. Comprised of one each of the basic operatic/vocal categories, the singers for the 2017-18 season will be Coloratura Soprano Tookah Sapper, Lyric Soprano Jennifer Goode Cooper, Mezzo-Soprano Blythe Gaissert, Tenor Blake Friedman, Baritone Mario Diaz-Moresco and Bass Adrian Rosas.
Tickets Go On Sale 7/15 for Artist Series Concerts' 2017-2018 Season
Tickets for Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota's 22nd season will be available online beginning July 15 at www.artistseriesconcerts.org. The season, which features a dynamic line-up of established and emerging classical, cabaret, jazz and pops artists, runs September 2017 through May 2018. The performances will be held at a variety of venues throughout Sarasota County.
Announcing the Winner of the Inaugural WiT Award
D.A. Nixon is the first winner of the WiT Award, the prize created to discover and nurture new writers working in the theatre industry. He wins an £8,000 commission, and additionally a dramaturgical relationship with Out of Joint which will include a public reading of his submitted play, Look Me In The Eye When We're Dancing.
