Ochre Contemporary Dance Company Presents 3.3 AND BEYOND
3.3 portrays a successful Indigenous dancer, on the brink of an international career, thrown into a holding cell because of his skin colour and torn between two cultures. Ian Wilkes dances the feature role, choreographed and originally created by Indigenous dance legend Michael Leslie who performs with him in this new adaptation. Beyond, is a mesmerising and powerful new dance work performed by Floeur Alder and choreographed by State Living Treasure Chrissie Parrott.
YBCA presents TRANSFORM, a New Performance Festival
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA), the Bay Area's most innovative arts institution, announces Transform, a two-week showcase of dance, music, theater, and public convenings. Occurring each fall and spring, Transform places YBCA's curatorial voice front and center and builds on its nearly 25-year history as the Bay Area's cornerstone organization for presenting cutting-edge contemporary art. Taking place September 14 through September 23, 2017, the inaugural festival presents newly commissioned works by nine groundbreaking Bay Area artists, including dance artists Jesse Hewit and Larry Arrington, contemporary ballet company Amy Seiwert Imagery, contemporary dance company RAWdance, and more. They have been invited to devise world-premiere works in response to the provocation, "Why Citizenship?"
Andy Zaltzman, Hal Cruttenden and WiFi Wars join UDDERBELLY FESTIVAL at Southbank Centre
Udderbelly Festival and London Wonderground have announced that master satirist Andy Zaltzman, waspish comic Hal Cruttenden and psychedelic Tony Law will be entertaining the Purple Cow this summer. They'll be joined for the first time by WiFi Wars, a new interactive game show from comedian and gaming expert Steve McNeil, which sets the audience a series of play-along challenges on their smartphones.

In its 17th (and final) season, the BMCC Tribeca PAC's Artists-in-Residence (AIR) hallmark program enables four to eight emerging and established artists-writers, dancers, and composers-to create and develop new work over the course of one year. We are celebrating this tremendous program with a final presentation that is indicative of the cutting-edge work this program has strived to present. The artists have been chosen by a panel of established performing arts professionals from some of the city's highest regarded organizations such as LaMama, Here ARTS, Abrams Arts Center, The New York State Council on the Arts, River to River, and Dance New Amsterdam. The artistic disciplines the artists come form are dance, multimedia, music, and theater.
