BIO
Bill Brooks (AEA) has performed and traveled throughout Europe and the United States for the past 27 years. He was most recently seen on Broadway in the Irish Rep.’s one night only CAmelot concert at the Schubert Theatre with Jeremy Irons and Melissa Erico. He has played a variety of roles ranging from leading man to ensemble, romantic leads to character parts. The most challenging include: performing in Philadelphia as Che in EVITA (directed by the talented Mark Waldrop), portraying Gus/ Growltiger in the Hamburg production of CATS, finally getting to play Sparky in Forever Plaid (twice), and singing the beautiful music of Michael Oster in the Off-Broadway production of DISAPPEARING ACT.
Bill is currently pursuing his love of cabaret and concert work having performed in various cabaret rooms, including The Firebird Café, Helen's Hideaway Room and Don't Tell Mama. He was a 1998 Cabaret Fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT, and was a member and soloist with the Gay Gotham Chorus in New York City where he performed alongside Tony Winner, Victoria Clark in their salute to cabaret!
He is also a director and producer of cabaret acts (co-creator, producer and performer in the 2005 BACK STAGE Bistro Award winning “3 Tenors in Search of an Act!”) and designs CD’s, postcards and flyers for the cabaret community.
He received his training in musical theatre at Ithaca College, NY and currently resides in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
