Bets Swadis

Bets is a theatre artist based in Portland, OR. Originally from Philadelphia, East Coast performance credits include: Emcee in Cabaret; Lumiere in Beauty & The Beast*; Chip in …Spelling Bee; Gregory Gardner in A Chorus Line; and The Nutcracker Ballet. Local credits include: Leaf in …Spelling Bee*; Alvin in Band Geeks! [West Coast Premiere]; The Rocky Horror Show; Drew in Troll 2: The Musical; Dad/ Jard in In The Basement and Bex/Brad/Claudia in Best Available as part of PCS's JAW Festival; and most recently as Margaret Mead in Hair at Portland Center Stage* (*BWWAward Nominee, Best Supporting Actor in a Musical). As a playwright, Bets's work was published in the March 2025 Issue of Masque & Spectacle, a literary journal. A workshop production of their play The Mighty Marching Meerkats premiered during Fuse Theatre Ensemble's 2024 OUTWright Fest and their 10-minute play Brave/Enough will be produced in April 2025 by PDXPlaywrights as part of the 2025 Portland Fertile Ground Festival. Bets is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
