BIO
Beth Marshall is an award-winning and critically acclaimed Producing Artistic Director/Casting Director/Acting Coach and Actor of stage and screen.
From 2003-June 2011, Beth was the Producing Artistic Director of The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival and served as the Vice President of The Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals from 2006-2008. Winning multiple awards for producing, marketing, and arts advocacy.
Beth is a current Artistic Ambassador for The National New Play Network and remains a consultant and advocate for Fringe Festivals globally, while fully producing theatrical seasons as Producing Artistic Director/CEO of her own company Beth Marshall Presents and BMP Casting.
Beth has been awarded “Best Arts Advocate” by Orlando Weekly. In 2007 Beth was awarded the prestigious Bank of America Local Hero Award for her artistic and humanitarian work within the Central Florida Community and received a $5k grant to donate to the non-profit charitable organization of her choice. She chose Orlando Fringe.

This brave piece recounts growing up gay in the straight world of Margaret Thatcher's working class Britain... among the Ravenscraig steelworks of Motherwell. Barr explores touching and timeless themes, but suffers slightly from a long-winded exposition.

Former Orlando theater and opera mainstay Frank McClain, who left Orlando in 2012 to assume the role of Managing Director of Opera Tampa and who then relocated to Dubuque, Iowa (2015) to become the Executive and Artistic Director of the Grand Opera House, will return to Orlando this summer to direct Stephen Lewis and Michael Wanzie in the Wanzie Presents production of Mass Appeal – opening on Friday, July 14th, 2023 for a limited 3-performance run.

What happens when you take nearly 300 students representing 52 productions from 33 high schools from across Central Florida and put them onstage at Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts? You get the Applause Awards – the annual ceremony, modeled after the Tony Awards which features performances from the winners of “Outstanding Musical” and culminates in the selection of two overall winners who advance to the High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York City (also known as The Jimmy Awards). One of last years winners, Jackson Chase, sat down with me to talk about his experience during last years’ awards, his adventure in New York at the Jimmy Awards, and share advice for all those students hoping for a similar experience this year.

An all-new spooky musical written and composed by local playwright Tracey Jane will have a workshop performance on October 30, 2 p.m. at the Renaissance Theatre. Inspired by Charles Dickens' beloved Christmas story, 'A Halloween Carol' is a tragicomedy surrounding one Carol Cratchit. After a visit by her BFF Marley Jacobs, Carol is helped by a host of other reimagined characters to embrace the true spirit of the holiday like never before.
