BIO

Benjamin Rauhala is one of the Broadway community's most trusted music directors and collaborators, known best for his arrangements and concerts with Jeremy Jordan, the Tony-nominated star of Broadway's Newsies, and as the co-creator and ‘Fairy Godfairy’ of the Broadway Princess Party concert series starring Laura Osnes, Susan Egan, Courtney Reed, and Aisha Jackson. He has created and shaped concerts with many of his generation's brightest stars, including Tony Award nominees Ariana DeBose, Taylor Louderman, Jennifer Damiano, and multi-hyphenates Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, Derek Klena, Kyle Dean Massey, Corey Cott, Casey Cott, and many more. He was also named 'Best Musical Director' by the 2020 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Awards.

In the 2015-2016 Broadway season, he had the rare privilege of working on two Broadway shows simultaneously. He made his Broadway debut playing in the pit for Fiddler on the Roof in 2016, where he assisted Ted Sperling and the music team throughout the run, orchestrating the show's performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and accompanying understudy and award show rehearsals. Simultaneously, he was the Music Copyist for Duncan Sheik's short-lived American Psycho, often rehearsing both shows in the same day. More recently, he was the Associate Music Director forThe Secret Life of Bees, directed by Sam Gold, at the Atlantic Theater. His other Off-Broadway credits include David Byrne’s Joan of Arc: Into The Fire at The Public Theater, Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Alice By Heart at MCC, and The Marvelous Wonderettes at Theater Row.

Rauhala also served as music director for Hit List, the meta-musical from the NBC television show SMASH at Feinstein’s/54 Below where he is an Original Programming Producer and has created dozens of sold-out concerts, including the 'Broadway Loves' Series, which has famously honored Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, Celine Dion and many more beloved pop icons. And yes, he is the person who made Jeremy Jordan sing “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.” You’re welcome.

He holds a Master's Degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Central Florida, and a Bachelor's Degree in Piano and Percussion from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
