Meadow Brook Theatre wraps up its golden anniversary season with "Forever Plaid" May 25 through June 19, 2016, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester. "Forever Plaid" was written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross with music continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt. It was originally produced by Gene Wolsk.
FAR FROM CANTERBURY Set for Fringe NYC Encore Series
Producer Dana M. Lerner (Application Pending) and Far From Canterbury, LLC announce that FAR FROM CANTERBURY: A NEW MUSICAL with Book, Music and Lyrics by Danny K. Bernstein, having won the Overall Excellence - Musical Award for its sold-out run at the New York International Fringe Festival will continue on as a part of the FringeNYC Encore Series, a selection of the best shows in both FringeNYC and Edinburgh Fringe. All performances take place at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam St) this fall.
GODS & KINGS Industry Readings to be Held Next Week
On June 15th and 16th, The Other Mirror will present a staged reading of the new GODS & KINGS. A Theban king goes to pieces after snubbing the Greek god Dionysus and his pack of wild groupies in this alt-rock adaptation of Euripides's ripping tragedy, The Bacchae. It features music by Neil Douglas Reilly (Clinton the Musical, Little Dancer, Rocky), a book by Austin Ruffer, and lyrics by Maggie Herskowitz (The Edelweiss Pirates) and Austin Ruffer. The reading is directed by Katherine M. Carter (Drama League, Playwrights Horizons, Artistic Director of The Other Mirror) with music Producer/Supervision by James Dobinson (Clinton the Musical).

Set in 'Ancient Greece,' GODS & KINGS is an original alt-rock musical that boldly brings to life the timeless fable of The Bacchae. The story centers on the conflict between the unyieldingly rational King Pentheus (Ben Garrett) and the wildly anarchic God Dionysus (Jonathan Grunert) as they struggle for influence and power over the people of Thebes. With music by Neil Douglas Reilly (Rocky, The Gershwins' Porgy & Bess) and book and lyrics by Austin Ruffer, the musical asks: Do people really have to live a life stuck between Gods and Kings?

Luckily, three brothers, who also just happen to have the last name of Andrews, know all the songs! Songs include 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,' 'Slow Boat to China,' 'Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive,' and 'Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree' sung like you've never heard them before.

Very Intense Productions and Your Theatrics (Jeremy Youett and Jacob Harvey) will present Ryan Scott Oliver's Darling, at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street, New York, NY) on Monday, November 4 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. Darling is produced in association with Grammy Award winning Kurt Deutsch and Sh-k-boom, and is part of RSO Fest, a series of concerts showcasing the scores of three new musicals by composer Ryan Scott Oliver. RSO Fest launched at New York's premier Supper Club, 54 Below, on October 7 with 35mm: A Musical Exhibition (in association with Tony Award winning producer John Johnson and will conclude with Jasper in Deadland completing the trilogy on Monday, November 18 (produced in association with Prospect Theater Company).
