Bart Shatto (born February 23, 1965) is a Broadway, film, and TV actor-singer who has appeared in the Tony-nominated Broadway musicals Les Misérables, The Civil War, War Paint, Hands on a Hardbody
and Dracula: the Musical. as well as the national tours of Cats, Les Miserables, and The Civil War] He was a veteran member of the rock band Trans-Siberian Orchestra for over a decade.
Shatto is from Peoria, Illinois, but lived in Bradford, Illinois, during grade school. After his family moved back to Peoria, he attended Bergan High School (now part of Peoria Notre Dame High School). He resides in Secaucus, New Jersey with his wife, PhD Dr Amy Bladen
Shatto was born to mother, Sara Kelly who worked as a caregiver for the disabled, and a father, Player Shatto, who was a maintenance supervisor for Pabst Brewery and a jazz musician, in Peoria, Illinois. He is the youngest of four with two elder sisters and one elder brother. He is of Irish, Scottish and German descent. When Bart was sixteen years old, he was spotted by a casting associate to audition for the role of
The Nerd in the classic film “Breakfast Club”. Bart auditioned for director John Hughes in his office in Chicago. The role was played by Anthony Michael Hall. Shatto studied Mass Communication and Theatre at both Western Illinois University and Southern Illinois University.
Shatto started his theatrical career in St. Louis, Missouri, working for regional theaters and getting his Equity card before moving to New York City. While working on Holland America Cruise Lines as an entertainer, he was invited to become a musical comedy trio “Wiseguys” member. He worked with Wiseguys for a year, performing at Carnegie Hall twice in Cabaret Comes to Carnegie and with the late Rosemary Clooney in a tribute to Bing Crosby. Wiseguys
have also performed in London, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and many other venues around the country. After the group dissolved, Shatto decided to pursue this theatrical career and landed the role of
Gus/Growltiger in the National Tour of Cats. Following that, he appeared in his debut Broadway show, The Civil War. He starred in Dracula: the Musical on Broadway as the Texan Quincey Morris. Shatto played the pivotal role of Jean Valjean in the original Broadway
production Les Miserables[6] for a year and a half. His other Broadway credits include Tony-nominated Hands On a Hardbody and War Paint.
Shatto performed in his cabaret shows, Bart Shatto: Back to Broadway - Heroes, Villains and Dreamers, Back To Back Broadway: Shatto and Stickler, all over the country. (directed by Jeff Calhoun) by Frank Wildhorn. Shatto can be heard as the voice of Gaspard's Papa in Disney Jr.'s animated series Gaspard and Lisa. His television credits include Law & Order, Chicago Fire, Murphy Brown, Chicago Med, Ghost Stories, and Guiding
Light. He has co-starred in the feature film Freedom, starring Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and the musical film Life of An Actress: The Musical,[5][7] featuring Tony Award nominees Orfeh and Taylor Louderman.
Shatto co-produced the New Works Virtual Festival (NWVF), which streams video readings of 20 new non-musical scripts, featuring the work of a diverse group of writers and an all-star cast
members. Bart has also produced and starred as President Donald Trump in The Jerry Duncan Show, a new comedic political web series that debuted on YouTube. In 2021, Shatto also stars and executive produces the new production of The Life And Adventures of
Davy Crockett, an intimate portrait of America's first celebrity politician and a genuine American hero. directed by Nick Corley, musically directed by David Lutken (Woody Sez), music by Tom
Masinter and lyrics by June Ospa based on Steve Warren’s “The Life and Times of Davy Crockett”. In December 2018, Shatto played opera star Tito Morelli in The Resident's Company's production of Lend Me a Tenor. It was directed by Kristin Mclaughlin who was the associate
director under Stanley Tucci (who directed the Broadway 2010 revival)

man, Gerald, and sang the iconic song Old City Bar as well as Dream Child from 2002 -2015. TSO has sold over 10 million concert tickets and 10 million concert albums and plays to 1 million fans each season. Billboard Magazine ranked TSO the top 25 touring artists of the decade.
