Pittsburgh Festival Opera Announces Winners of the Mildred Miller International Vocal Competition, Mezzo-Soprano Edition

Pittsburgh Festival Opera has announced the winners of the 10th Annual Mildred Miller International Vocal Competition, Mezzo-Soprano Edition. The Mildred Miller International Voice Competition was founded in 2011 to identify and nurture talented young singers.

First Place Winner Meghan Kasanders, 26, led the field of nine finalists at Pittsburgh Festival Opera's 7th Annual Mildred Miller International Voice Competition with her performances of Dich, teure Halle from Wagner's Tannh user and 'Come scoglio' from Mozart's Cosi fan tutte on Sunday, Oct. 22 at The Frick Art & Historical Center, Pittsburgh. Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Dawn Helsing announce the addition of new performances dates for the Chicago Premiere production of Caroline, or Change by Tony Award-winner Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori, directed by Charles Newell. The production has been extended through Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue.
