Grove Street Stompers Come to The Bickford Theatre August 1st

The Grove Street Stompers were formed in 1959 by band leader and piano player Bill Dunham.  This fabulous group's repertoire includes samples of Dixieland, New Orleans and swing styles with tunes made famous by such greats as Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton.

Cornelia Street Cafe to Host Vocollaboration, Featuring Shank, Wedding et. al, Sept. 16

On Thursday, September 16th, Cornelia Street Cafe welcomes Po'Jazz to present Vocollaboration, featuring Kendra Shank, Alison Wedding, Kate Richards and Nik Munson. This event is hosted by Golda Solomon and consists of two sets, one at 6pm and one at 7pm. Doors open at 5:30pm for early dining and imbibing. Cost of admission is $15 or $10 for students (with ID) and includes one drink. There is no extra charge for staying for the second set.

In addition to the previously announced Marc Kudisch, Emily Skinner, Daniel Reichard, Manu Narayan, Jill Paice, Jeffry Denman, William Michals, Lisa Howard, Bill Daugherty, and Sarah Jane McMahon, the cast of this unique concert that features the entire cast singing without microphones (the way it used to be done on Broadway) now also includes opera star John Easterlin, who won two Grammy Awards this year, as well as Nightlife Award winner David Colbert, and Broadway stars Tony Yazbeck and Janet Metz. The show's producer/writer/host, Scott Siegel has revealed that more star announcements are forthcoming.
