Singers and Composers Honor Stephen Schwartz at 25th Anniversary Gala for American Opera Projects

Brooklyn's AOP (American Opera Projects) celebrated its 25th anniversary of developing and producing opera and music theater on Monday, May 12 with a gala that honored Stephen Schwartz, composer and lyricist of Wicked, Pippin, and Godspell as well as the AOP-developed opera Séance on a Wet Afternoon.

Thommie Retter and Stage Door Designs have joined forces to produce and present THIS WAY TO BROADWAY, A Concert Featuring Today's Talented Youth. Their first event will be held at the 777 Theatre in New York City on Monday the 13th of May at 7pm. This concert will feature vocal and dance performances by talented kids representing 10 different states. This group of 'ready for prime-time' professional and aspiring kids include many with professional credits: Broadway, Off-Broadway, Television, National Tours and more! We are thrilled to announce that TONY Award Winning actor Trent Kowalik from Broadway's Billy Elliot the Musical will be on hand to deliver a spectacular performance.

Final Cast Announced for THE CHRISTMAS ROSE at Carnegie Hall

The new family musical special, The Christmas Rose, features a cast of over 400 and stars the multiple Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actress Jane Seymour and legendary Broadway actor and Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams. The Christmas Rose, with music and story by PBS composer Tim Janis, follows a young orphan named Annabelle, played by thirteen year old Bailey Grey, into the desert where she crosses paths with everyone from the three wise men and singing angels to Mary and Joseph, while being pursued by a team of desert bandits. The Christmas Rose is created in association with the Ogunquit Playhouse and is on stage at Carnegie Hall one night only Thursday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (212) 247-7800 or online at www.carnegiehall.org.
