Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) 2018 season opens with Gilbert and Sullivan's THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (June 9-17), followed by Cole Porter's ANYTHING GOES (August 18-26), JUDY GARLAND: COME RAIN OR COME SHINE, STARRING ANGELA INGERSOLL (October 5-14), and Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS (December 22-31).
Mannes School Of Music Announces a New Production of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER
Mannes School of Music at The New School announces a four-performance run of Philip Glass's chamber opera, The Fall of the House of Usher. This new production by Troy Hourie (scenographer for the acclaimed 2017 Mannes production of Robert Ashley's Dust), is to be presented Thursday, February 1, 8pm; Friday, February 2, 8pm; Saturday, February 3, 3pm and 8pm in Stiefel Hall at Arnhold Hall, 55 West 13th Street.

The Sarasota Ballet's second production of the Season, Metropolitan, will open on December 1 at the Sarasota Opera House, with a triple bill by Sir Frederick Ashton, Marcelo Gomes and George Balanchine. For these performances The Sarasota Ballet will be accompanied by the Sarasota Orchestra under the baton of American Ballet Theatre Music Director Ormsby Wilkins.
