BIO

AVI AMON is a Turkish-American composer and sound artist. Recent work includes music, songs, and sound design for projects at: Disney, HBO Films, Hulu, Spotify/Gimlet, Tribeca Film Festival, Ars Nova, Danspace, New York Theater Workshop, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Page73, RoundAbout, SoHo Rep, St. Louis REP, and Target Margin Theater, among others. In Development: music & sound design for THE FOLLOWING EVENING with the 600 Highwaymen (Perelman Performing Arts Center, Winter 2024); music for THROUGH THE SUNKEN LANDS with Tim J. Lord (Kennedy Center, Spring 2024); music & sound design for SELLING KABUL (Northern Stage, Fall 2023); a new album and performance piece, MOTHER/ROAD; and an original score for the upcoming feature documentary, EVERYTHING YOU HAVE IS YOURS. Avi has been awarded a Jonathan Larson Grant, The DGF Thom Thomas Award, and a Reel Change Film Fund grant. He has received artistic support from Berkeley REP, the Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellowship, GoodSpeed, New Dramatists, New Harmony Project, New Jewish Culture Fellowship, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, And THE WORKSHOP, Among others.
