"Our 2012 season is comprised of three world premieres: one by David Michael Sirois and two by Mark Della Ventura. The Alliance Theatre Lab Announces 5th Season

The Alliance Theatre Lab was founded by Adalberto Acevedo in 2001 as The Modern Stage. After three years of successful shows that included the South Florida premieres of Seascape with Sharks and Dancer by Don Nigro, Hellcab by Will Kern and Nocturne by Adam Rapp, the theatre took some time off to regroup, add new members, and refocus their mission statement. In 2005 the theatre resurfaced as The Alliance Theatre Lab, and went on to present critically acclaimed productions of Burn This by Lanford Wilson, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley, Sexual Perversity in Chicago by David Mamet and Orphans by Lyle Kessler. In 2009, The Alliance produced its first full season. Together, the new Alliance has refocused the company as an ensemble of theatre artists that focus on contemporary works that Provoke, Challenge and Engage the audience.

At the same time it examines the meteoric rise of Roberto Goizueta, as the first Cuban American to head a major American company.

The Alliance Theatre Lab presents a staged reading of Johnna Adams' deliciously disturbing play 'Angel Eaters.' Nominated by the New York Innovative Theatre Awards for Outstanding Full-Length Script, 'Angel Eaters' is the first play in Adams' dark and fascinating trilogy which debuted at the Flux Theatre Company in New York.
World Premiere - David Caudle's 'In Development'

Damsel was read in the Bridge Theatre Company's new work series, as well as Visiting Hours, which was also a Finalist in the Premiere Stages New Play Festival and a Finalist for the Christopher Wolk Award at the Abingdon Theatre Company. He has had his plays produced at the Samuel Beckett Theatre in New York, the Tamarind Theatre in Los Angeles, Other awards and nominations include The Short Fall (2002 Finalist at the Lark), Love A Nurse (Finalist at the New Harmony Project), and his one-act, feet of clay (Finalist for the Heidemann Award at the Actors' Theatre of Louisville) won the 2004 Samuel French One-Act Competition and is published by Samuel French in its 29th Edition of Festival Plays. His short film, Feet of Clay, directed by True Blood (HBO) actress Carrie Preston, made the rounds of festivals including Miami's Gay and Lesbian Film Festival '07.
