BIO
Ashlyn Maddox was born and raised in Houston, TX and got thrown into theater in the fifth grade because her mom thought she was bad at sports. She’s had the acting bug ever since and got her degree in musical theater from Texas State University.
She made her Broadway debut in the Tony Award Winning revival of Parade after performing in New York City Center’s Annual Gala Presentation just a few months after moving to New York. She most recently played Kim McAfee in Bye Bye Birdie at the Kennedy Center and has also worked professionally at Arena Stage and McCarter Theatre in Ride the Cyclone and Theatre Under the Stars in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway.
Ashlyn has played the lead in a host of developmental musicals and plays namely The Song of Bernadette (Bernadette, dir. Chris Gattelli), The Exorcist (Regan, dir. Michael Arden), Without Walls (Lexi, dir. Matthew Johnson Harris), Household Magic (Betts, dir. Kate Whoriskey for The Public Theatre), and HEARTBEATS (Eve, dir. Lauren Zeftel.)
She is passionate about the Deaf community and studied Deaf culture in school, and she is proficient in ASL. Ashlyn loves film and enjoys little more than a great horror movie in a dark theater.
