Cast Announced For Shakespeare's Globe's SHAKESPEARE IN THE ABBEY

As celebrations continue for the 400th Anniversary of the First Folio across 2023, Shakespeare’s Globe will return to Westminster Abbey for the hugely popular Shakespeare in the Abbey for six special performances beginning this evening and running until Friday 31 March.

Life in the UK at the moment feels uncannily like we’re going through a ‘Worst of the 70s’ playlist: periods of no economic growth, food shortages, an increase in the cost of living, and rumblings over a referendum on Europe. There was also an attempt to kickstart the conversation about equality between the sexes, with the formation of the Women’s Liberation Movement. It’s little wonder, then, that this version of Measure for Measure seems so familiar – hint: it’s not just the perennially relevant themes of the play that hit home.

The Young Vic has announced Joan Iyiola (Duchess of Malfi, RSC) and Ashley Zhangazha (Tina The Musical, West End) as the cast of Changing Destiny. This epic new stage adaptation of the 4,000-year-old Egyptian poem about the Warrior King Sinuhe is written by Booker Prize-winner Ben Okri.
National Youth Theatre Launches New Hub Scheme in Replacement of Audition Fees

Today National Youth Theatre have launched Hub, a new, accessible subscription service in replacement of audition fees. The Hub subscription includes a new online platform that will give users access to live and pre-recorded workshops with actors and online resources for only £2 a month or £24 for the year.
