Features a series of vignettes that deals with the lives of two eponymous immortal vampire lesbians, a creature known as The Succubus who is also known as La Condessa or Magda Legerdemaine, and the virgin-turned-vampire who becomes known as Madelaine Astarte and Madelaine Andrews. The two are locked in eternal, if comic, antagonism after surviving the downfall of the mythical Biblical city in question. Particular conflict occurs when both women arrive in 1920s/1930s Broadway and Hollywood and masquerade as silent film stars. A final scene in Las Vegas in the 1980s sees them finally reach a truce.
Performances run June 17th thru the 26th, 2020 at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St., Columbus, OH 43215. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit: http://evolutiontheatre.org/
Photo Coverage: First Look at Actor's Theatre of Columbus' FRANKENSTEIN
Appearing on the English stage only five years after Mary Shelley's groundbreaking novel Frankenstein; or the Modern Prometheus, Richard Brinsley Peake's Frankenstein, or the Dangers of Presumption is the first adaptation of that venerable novel. Peake's monster is an early version of the horror that would star in more than 50 films in the last 100 years. Performed in the style of classic melodrama, including song, lovers, and spectacle, Peake's stage adaptation was the only version Shelley attended, an event which she recounted in a letter to her father, stating, "I was much amused!" Frankenstein was such a hit in the theaters that the publisher of Shelley's novel produced a second edition, and the place of that novel in the English canon was secured. Several stage imitators followed in the decade after Peake's 1823 play, but this play endures as the original stage version of Frankenstein.
Performances are June 21 - July 15, 2018. Thursdays through Sundays @ 8pm. Schiller Park (German Village), Amphitheatre Stage, Columbus, Ohio. For information on donations and seat reservations, visit http://theactorstheatre.org

It's 1950, and new colors are being added to the Red Scare. Two U.S. State Department employees have been tasked with identifying sexual deviants within their ranks. The problem: They are both gay, and have married each other's partners as a carefully constructed cover. Inspired by the true story of the earliest stirrings of the gay rights movement, madcap classic sitcom-style laughs give way to provocative drama as two "All-American" couples are forced to stare down the closet door. Performances are August 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, September 1, 2 at 8 PM; August 27 at 2 PM. Columbus Performing Arts Center, Van Fleet Theatre, 549 Franklin Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215. A musical perfect for the whole family, Seussical takes us into the world of Dr. Seuss, where we revisit beloved characters including The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and JoJo. The Cat in the Hat guides us into The Jungle of Nool where we see Horton, the kind hearted elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whoville. He meets JoJo, a Who child sent to military school for thinking too many 'thinks.'Horton decides he must protect the speck of dust on a nearby clover, while at the same time protecting an abandoned egg left to his care by the lazy Mayzie la Bird. Horton tries to convince the other animals in The Jungle of the existence of the Whos, but he is ridiculed and put on trial for insanity. Only his loyal neighbor,Gertrude McFuzz, never loses faith in him. Eventually, the two fall in love. Now one of the most widely produced musicals in the country, Seussical weaves a story of friendship, loyalty and love. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos, free Horton, and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Charming Seussical teaches us the power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.
