BIO

Ashley Griffin is the first person in history to be nominated for a major award for both playing and directing HAMLET. As a writer Ashley is most well known as the creator of the pop culture phenomenon FOREVER DEADWARD (New World Stages,) praised by MTV, E! EW and others. Her work has been developed at Broadway’s Manhattan Theater Club, Playwrights Horizons, La MaMa, and the American Theater of Actors. Ashley was recently commissioned to write the pilot script for the upcoming network show SILVER MOON. Her screenplay OPHELIA, DECENDING is currently in post production with Seastone Productions.



Ashley has directed extensively in NY and L.A. She most recently helmed the widely heralded production of SNOW at NY’s Sonnet Theater. Ramona Maben of The Harlem Times described her as: “A warrior of stage direction…she transports us through eras, characters and story lines clearly and with ferocious grace…It is truly stunning what she can do with…nothing but the simplest stage magic.”

As an actress, Ashley has performed on and off Broadway as well as in L.A. and London. This past year she appeared on HOMELAND and in THE GREATEST SHOWMAN starring Hugh Jackman.
