Jewish Plays Project Announces Podcast Series And Live Event In June
The Jewish Plays Project has announced its first-ever podcast series, inviting national participation in the 11th Annual Jewish Playwriting Contest . Available today at jewishplaysproject.org/podcast, audiences can listen to short audio plays excerpted from the seven finalist plays and vote for their favorites.

Kicking-off it's Stonewall@50 Season, the 16th annual FRESH FRUIT AWARDS of DISTINCTION will be presented Monday, May 6, with the reception at 6:30 p.m. and presentations beginning at 7 p.m. As in past years, the event will be at the Bowery Poets Club, 308 Bowery, New York City.

Monsterpiece Theater Collective Extends HAMLET
Monsterpiece Theater Collective's Hamlet is entering its second extended week after a solf out first opening, Hamlet continues to explore Shakespeare's classic through the eyes of Hamlet himself as he struggles with grief and betrayal. Played by Jessica Cannizzaro, Hamlet is both fierce and vulnerable clinging to the memory of his father and the remnants of a relationship with his mother played by Sarah Quigley. With new music by the Shirtwaist Sisters and directed by Anthony D. Pound this journey into the mind of debilitating anguish and the turbulence that is left in its wake will engage and surprise even the most diehard Shakespeare fans.
Best of THE CUTTHROAT SERIES: GRAND GUIGNOL DUELS Kicks Off Next Month at The Flea
After completing the most terrifying 4-part theatrical event of the fall, The Flea Theater will present an evening of winners of THE CUTTHROAT SERIES: GRAND GUIGNOL DUELS. Audience members were asked to vote on their favorite play during presentations of 4 separate pods of themed Grand Guignol plays (Gore, Cruelty, Night Terror, and Lust) which began in September. Now, these 4 winning plays will return for a limited run beginning January 15. These turn-of-the-century French plays alternate between ghastly horrors and carnal comedies to create a gripping, deplorable evening of theater.
