The Music Man on Broadway has announced that a limited number of standing room tickets will be available for every performance beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17. A limited number of tickets will be available for same-day purchase beginning 2 hours before performances for $76 each.
NYC Department Of Cultural Affairs Announces Awards To 36 Nonprofits Through CreateNYC Language Access Fund
The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) has announced this year's recipients of grants through the CreateNYC Language Access Fund. 36 NYC-based nonprofits will receive grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 in support of programming that increases access to arts and culture for those whose primary language is not English. The awarded programs represent 12 languages a?" including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and American Sign Language a?" and will serve audiences in all five boroughs.
NYC Department Of Cultural Affairs Launches “Community Organizing 101: Engagement Tactics For Cultural Organizations”
The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) today announced the launch of Community Organizing 101: Engagement Tactics for Cultural Organizations, a pilot course that will train staff from cultural organizations around the city in strategies for sustained community building. During public engagement conducted for CreateNYC, residents and cultural workers called for the City to support cultural groups in efforts to establish stronger connections with their neighbors and engage new audiences. Representatives from 30 DCLA-funded organizations from all five boroughs will participate in this free pilot course, providing them an opportunity to establish new peer networks and learn how to integrate the tools of community organizing into their work in the cultural sector.
2017 SALA Festival Starts Tomorrow with 660 Free Art Exhibitions
The South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival will get the state's art started tomorrow (August 1) when it officially opens for its milestone 20th year, presenting the works of a record breaking 6282 artists in 660 free exhibitions across Adelaide and regions throughout August.
