For the past 10 years, Inwood's UP Theater Company has provided a creative space for new plays to be seen and heard, and to engage communities in Northern Manhattan with their work. Their latest production, the darkly comic fable a?oeA Barn Playa?? presents a group of farm animals rehearsing a show. But tensions rise and their art falls apart as the mother animals realize that their young offspring are being taken away. The world-premiere of Lizzie Donahue's a?oeA Barn Playa?? begins March 18 and runs through April 4, 2020, at the Good Shepherd/Inwood Academy Space at 108 Cooper Street. Directed by Melissa Moschitto, Founding Artistic Director of The Anthropologists.

Opera House Arts at the Stonington Opera House in Maine announced today the complete casts and creative teams for the company's 20th Anniversary Season, which includes Shakespeare in Love (July 18-28), based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall as well as Avalon (August 15-25), a world-premiere by Melody Bates.

After 8 years, the producing collaborative Harlem9 has played to packed houses, picking up an OBIE award along the way in 2014. This April, Harlem9 collaborates with Pregones Theater PRTT, a Latino arts organization in the Bronx for the 3rd time to present "48HOURS IN… EL BRONX". The two organizations first collaborated in December 2016 and again in April of 2018. This year, the theme features the evocative works of 6 photographers and 6 poets that features or makes reference to a Bronx train station, and/or a neighborhood readily identified with a particular station.
