Ariel Eliaz – Received Best of Festival for his performance in Boiled Alive! At The Player’s Theatre in New York City. He also received a TANYS (Theater Association of New York State) Award for his portrayal of The Cat in the Hat in Suessical the Musical. Other roles include: John Proctor in The Crucible; Tom Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie; James Bates in Book of Days; Lenny Ganz in Rumors; Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown; Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum; and Ali Hakim in Oklahoma.

Review: PRAYER FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC at Theater J

In an elegant coincidence (or a charming conspiracy by the theatre gods), DC audiences will be able to see two absolutely engrossing plays about Jewish family life in 20th and 21st century Europe, back to back: Tom Stoppard's Tony award-winning Leopoldstadt next month at the Shakespeare Theatre and Joshua Harmon's Drama Desk award-winning Prayer for the French Republic through November 24 at Theater J.
PRAYER FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC Comes to Theater J

Beginning on Oct 30 and running through November 24, 2024, Theater J brings the timely and important Prayer for the French Republic to the stage. Written by the highly acclaimed playwright Joshua Harmon, the play was a Broadway hit, a Tony Award nominee and won the inaugural Trish Vradenburg Jewish Play Prize.

Tribeca Announces 2020 Short Film Lineup

The 19th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its 2020 Shorts Program lineup. Setting a record with over 6,100 submissions, the final program roster includes 64 diverse and captivating short films from 20 countries around the globe, and features 46 world premieres, including DreamWorks Animation's new animated short, To Gerard. The short films will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs which include five narrative, four documentary, and one animation program. For the fourth consecutive year, 40 percent of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. Queen Collective by Procter & Gamble in partnership with Queen Latifah, Flavor Unit Entertainment and Tribeca Studios is back, a program dedicated to supporting gender and racial equality behind the camera. The 2020 shorts lineup is programmed by Sharon Badal and Ben Thompson. The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 15 - April 26.
