BIO

ARCELL CABUAG is the Associate Artistic Director and senior dancer of the Ronald K. Brown EVIDENCE Dance Company. He is a recipient of the 2004 New York Dance and Performance “Bessie Award" for his performance at the Joyce Theater in NYC. Originally from the Bay Area of California, he received his training at the Abraham Lincoln Performing Arts Magnet School under the direction of Debbie Norris, and Studio 10 with Keith Banks and Soozi Childers. In 1996, Arcell moved to New York City and attended the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center where he was first introduced to Ronald K. Brown.

His professional experience includes: "ROCK THE HOUSE" for Paramount Pictures in California, "THE SHOJI TABUCHI SHOW" and "SHOJI'S CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR" in Branson, Missouri, and numerous musicals including playing the role of Tommy Dijilas in "THE MUSIC MAN" at San Jose Musical Theater, A featured dancer in "OKLAHOMA" at Theater Under The Stars, and the Richard Rodgers Centennial Production of "THE KING AND I" starring Carole Carmello at the Papermill Playhouse. Arcell can be seen in the episode “CHOREOGRAPHED” on LAW AND ORDER SVU, a "Codorinu" commercial with Pilobolus shot and aired in Barcelona, Spain, and BETJ "INSIDE BLACK CULTURE" Featuring Ronald K. Brown EVIDENCE Dance Company.

Arcell serves the dance community as an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University (Brooklyn), as a resident teacher at the Dance Wave Dance Program in Brooklyn, and as a master class instructor for Evidence, A Dance Company to all ages and levels throughout the USA. He has assisted Ronald K. Brown in setting work on the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Philadanco, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensamble, Ballet Hispanico and various Universities. Arcell has been touring nationally and internationally with Evidence since 1997 and is currently working as the Assistant Choreographer to Ronald K Brown for the A.R.T and Broadway production of "PORGY and BESS".

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, world-renowned dancer and choreographer, Ronald K. Brown and his groundbreaking company EVIDENCE kicked off their season at The Joyce Theater for a limited engagement through February 11th. The Brooklyn-based company, returns for the first time since its successful season back in July 2016. This occasion marks the world premiere of new works, performances of old, yet relevant pieces, and the celebration of Associate Artistic Director, Arecell Cabuag's 20th anniversary with the company.

Last Night, February 8, the stars came out to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Evidence, A Dance Company, at the Grace in Winter Silver Ball at The Plaza Hotel. The event honored Evidence Founder & Artistic Director Ronald K. Brown and Evidence Chairman, Reginald Van Lee. Victoria Rowell hosted the event, which featured cocktails and an online auction, in addition to performances by Evidence Dance and former Dreamgirl Jennifer Holliday.
