BIO

An award-winning theatre maker, Antonio Miniño is a native of the Dominican Republic, where he studied theatre at the School of Dramatic Arts, co-hosted/produced and directed for the award-winning television show FashionTV, was a contributing writer for national magazines, an art director for various fashion campaigns, and a director/performer for national productions.

He is a two-time Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Observer, and most recently the assistant director for Signature Theatre Company's Lucille Lortel award-winning production of Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis' Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, directed by Obie award-winner Mark Brokaw.

Select directing credits include Gabrielle Fox's Hooters (with Broadway's Donna Vivino, as part of PFAC), Desi Moreno-Penson's Bodega Cat, Richard S. Sargent's Coffee at Compton's, David Stallings’ Anaïs Nin Goes to Hell (Outstanding Costume Design: Izzy Fields - NY IT Awards), Riti Sachdeva’s Scene/Unseen (Nominated Outstanding Director, PCTF Awards), David Stallings’ The Family Shakespeare; and his solo shows The Shadow Project and Moon Child. International directing credits include Edward Albee's The Zoo Story, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, and Rafael Morla's Joan. He was the assistant director to Shay Gines for Paul Zindel’s And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little (Retro Productions), and to Gabriel Paulino for Slawonir Mzoret’s Emigrantes (Teatro Nacional).

His play The Surprise Stocking Stuffer was a finalist for the 2013 Association of Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) New Play Development Workshop. An excerpt of his solo show Moon Child (Hijo de la Luna) was presented as part of the 14th Street Y 2016 APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) Showcase.

As a singer he has performed at Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart, The Town Hall of NY, Symphony Space NY, The Time Out Lounge, The Triad NYC and The Nuyorican Poets Cafe.

His photography has been featured in the NY Times, NY Post, Backstage, Show Business Weekly, among others.

He is the owner and curator of Different Translation (formerly known as Fab Marquee Productions), and former founding member, company actor and co-artistic director at Manhattan Theatre Works (2006-16). He is the writer of the #PersonOfChange series on Medium.com, showcasing persons of color and/or persons who identify as non-binary. He is an #ArtistWithADayJob and works as an Entertainment publicist at Kampfire PR, one of New York's premiere Marketing & Public Relations agencies specializing in the Performing Arts. He is a proud associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, a member of SAG-AFTRA, and an alumnus of Directors Lab North (Toronto).
