BIO

Antonio King, preferably called “King”, has been a professional performer since the age of six. King, born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, has enjoyed a long career in the arts and does not plan to stop any time soon. Whether singing in the church choir of his hometown at age 6, performing overseas, or touring the United States, King is at home on the stage.

King studied at the University of Southern Indiana and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. While training in college, King was presented with a scholarship to attend the Open Jar Musical Theatre Institute founded by Jeff Whiting. It was there he received the education of a lifetime and was exposed to the great city of New York for the first time. King has also studied voice at Depauw University, is an Actors Equity Roger Sturtevant Award recipient, and has studied voice over acting at Second City Chicago.

Along with being a performer, King has a long history of teaching and uplifting young artists in dance, and musical theatre. For years King has worked with the Los Angeles after school program Sky High Dance, the illustrious Buckley Private School, and has been a repeat volunteer for Night Night: Black Broadway Men Read Bedtime Stories.

Some of King’s favorite credits are Dreamgirls (Jimmy Early), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II), Jersey Boys (Barry), and originating the role of Prince in Norwegian Cruise Lines upcoming attraction Revolution: A Celebration of Prince directed/choreographed by Patti Wilcox.

Aside from his passion for performing and teaching, King’s hobbies are fitness (proud Gym Rat!), content creating on social media to his 20k followers, and putting together outfits to be photographed! Strike a pose! Smize!
