New York City Opera to Present The World Premiere Of THE GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS

This January, New York City Opera (under the direction of Michael Capasso, General Director) will produce its latest world premiere of a new American opera, Ricky Ian Gordon's THE GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS, a co-production with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (Zalmen Mlotek, Artistic Director, Dominick Balletta, Executive Director).

Michael Capasso, General Director of the New York City Opera has announced that Rachel Blaustein, Brian James Myer, Mary Phillips, Stephen Powell, and Victor Starsky will be featured in the cast of its upcoming world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon’s THE GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS, a co-production with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene.
Musicians of Lenox Hill to Perform at Temple Israel, 4/5

On Tuesday, April 5 at 8 PM, the Musicians of Lenox Hill, under the artistic direction of Soo-Kyung Park, will perform at the Temple Israel of the City of New York located at 112 East 75th Street in New York City. The program features Antonio Battolomeo Bruni's Duo No. 2 in g minor for Violin and Viola, Op. 4, Franz Liszt's Les jeux d'eaux a la Villa d'Este from Annees de Peleringe (Troisieme Annee) for Solo Piano, Beryl Rubinstein's Sonata for Flute and Piano, and Anton Dvorak's Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 81. The concert is free to the public, but donations are gratefully accepted at the door.

Chicago-based Deeply Rooted Dance Theater returns to the Mark Morris Dance Center with Generations II, November 21-23, 2014. Generations II is the second installation of the five-part Generations Initiative. Launched in 2013, the multigenerational repertory project features classic and new works by choreographers representing the scope of the continuum of dance that forms Deeply Rooted's legacy. In collaborating with nationally renowned choreographers across the spectrum of modern, ballet, and African dance, The 2014 New York season features works by Kevin Iega Jeff, Gary Abbott, Nicole Clarke-Springer and MenCa offering three New York premieres.
