Manhattan School of Music: Celebrating 100 Years (1918 - 2018), a deluxe 304-page book celebrating MSM's history, has been awarded a 2020 Circle of Excellence 'Grand Gold' Award in the category of 'Institutional Relations - Promotional Publication' by CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Fusion Theatre Launches Opera Series March 23
On March 23 and 30, Fusion Theatre will present Spinto Soprano Eilin O'Dea and Tenor Byron Holman in 'A Night at the Opera,' an evening of extracts (duets and arias) from 'Aida,' 'Tosca' and 'Madama Butterfly,' at Marc A. Scorca Hall of National Opera Center, 330 Seventh Ave., 7th floor. Musical direction is by pianist Maestro Brian Holman.
Pompano Beach Cultural Center/ Opera Fusion Presents Comic Opera Don PASQUALE
Opera Fusion is delighted to announce a special one night only performance of Gaetano Donizetti's comic masterpiece Don Pasquale at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center on February 16, 2019 at 7:30 pm. Fusion Theatre to Merge Opera and Theatre with Anouilh's ANTIGONE
French playwright Jean Anouilh wrote his 'Antigone' during the Nazi occupation of France. It became a symbol of resistance as freedom fighters viewed the heroine's defiance as a crie de coeur of patriotism. The play, written with a modern sensibility, is based on the Greek tragedy of the princess who dies for burying her brother's corpse against the orders of her dictator uncle. Its parallels to modern times are exciting and provocative.

100 Year Old Conductor, Maestro Anton Coppola to Lead Opera Tampa in Concert, 3/25
March 21, 2017 marks the 100th birthday of Maestro Anton Coppola, the conductor and composer whose career has spanned from singing in the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus for the American premiere of Puccini's Turandot at age 9 to - 91 years later - conducting his own an alternate ending for Puccini's unfinished masterpiece, one of two new works to be premiered on March 25th at Coppola Conducts: 100 Years Young. This concert will be presented by Opera Tampa, the company for which Coppola was the founding Artistic Director.

Manhattan Opera Repertory Ensemble Opera Presents TOSCA This Fall
In the midst of current events that revolve around societal changes, a loss of interest in classical music, and dissonance in the classical music industry, one organization has managed to ring above the drama like a soprano mid-chorus. The Manhattan Opera Repertory Ensemble (MORE Opera), led by soprano Cheryl Warfield, will premiere its production of Puccini's 'Tosca' featuring an all Black principal cast at Dicapo Opera Theatre this Fall.
