Anthony is best known to theater audiences as Frankie in Forever Plaid, a role that he has played throughout California at many theaters, including Cinnabar Theater, Larkspur Café Theater, Pacific Alliance Stage Company, and the Castro Valley Center for the Arts. In addition to Plaid, among his many theater appearances are Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls, Dan Goodman in Next to Normal, Eddie Ryan in Funny Girl, Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden, Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense A-Men, the Duke in Oh, Kay!, three separate productions of Fiddler on the Roof (playing Perchik, Motel, and Fyedka), Howard in Moon Over Buffalo, Howard in Meshuggah-nuns, Dr. Simian in Unwrap Your Candy, Stew in The Bachelors (West Coast Premiere), Sy in My Favorite Year, Albert in Neil Simon’s The Dinner Party, Whizzer in Falsettos, Matt in The Fantasticks, Harlequin in Triumph of Love, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Lancelot in Camelot (ARTY award nomination), Zangara in Assassins, Henrik in A Little Night Music, Paul in Company, Ciccio in The Most Happy Fella, Putting It Together, Songs for a New World, Cole Porter’s People, A Sondheim Affair, John Fisher’s Medea: The Musical, and Dear World, Girl Crazy, and On A Clear Day You Can See Forever with San Francisco’s acclaimed 42nd St. Moon.
