Anthony Leigh Adams is a composer, writer and producer with credits in film, television and theatre. For television, he has written over 30 episodes for such diverse series as Duck Tales for Disney Animation, Fraggle Rock for Marvel/Jim Henson Productions and She Wolf of London for Universal Television. He wrote and produced the ABC movie, Badge of Betrayal, starring Harry Hamlin and the NBC movie, Murder or Memory, starring Emmy-winner, Leigh Taylor Young and has written and developed film and television projects for Disney/ABC, Warner Bros., Universal, CBS and NBC. Anthony wrote, directed and composed music for the independent feature film, Lost Lake, which was released on DVD by Warner Brothers Home Video. He is currently a producer for the Emmy Award-winning CBS series, The Amazing Race.
Anthony has written, directed, and composed music for several of his original stage productions, including the rock opera, An Eye In Each Head, the folk opera, A Song For Gar, and Primal Twang: The Legacy of the Guitar, a theatrical journey through the colorful history of the world’s most popular instrument. The musical featured electrifying live performances by Grammy Award-winning guitar greats Eric Johnson, Albert Lee, Andrew York, Mason Williams, Doc Watson and Dan Crary. The concert documentary aired nationally on PBS and won Best Documentary Feature at the Rome International Film Festival. Anthony also wrote, directed and composed original songs for Love-In, a celebration of the eclectic music of the 1960s from rock and soul to Indian ragas. Tony Award-winner Ben Vereen hosted the show, which featured an all-star cast. The concert documentary was released nationally on PBS.
Besides his incredible wife, producer Christina Adams, Anthony’s greatest love is musical theater, and he was thrilled to compose the score and co-write the book and lyrics for Sideways The Musical with Rex Pickett, author of the classic novel, Sideways, which the Oscar-winning film was based on. The world premiere recording will be released by Broadway Records and Lakeshore Records on August 18, 2023. Tony Award-winning director/choreographer, Kathleen Marshall, is attached to direct and choreograph the stage production.
