Annie-Sage Whitehurst is a performer and writer in New York City. After studying theatre and critical theory at Smith College, Annie-Sage performed at WoW Cafe, La Mama ETC, and Cherry Lane, working the Guerilla Girls, Flux Theatre Ensemble, Faux-Real Theatre Company, Bedlam Ensemble, and more. She originated the title role in Juliana, which she performed for two years at The Duplex and later The Kennedy Center.
Her acting credits also include voice-over (LIMETOWN), film, and television.
Annie-Sage has collaborated with visual artists, choreographers, and musicians across NYC to explore solo and multimedia performance. In 2019, she began performing and producing her own improv/comedy shows. Writing includes award-winning short films, web series, and the libretto for a podcast opera, AQUA NET & FUNYUNS produced by Experiments in Opera.
During NYC's 2020 Lockdown, she wrote and self-produced several short films, performed weekly comedy shows, and founded The Sequestered Film Festival, a non-competitive virtual film festival to promote accessible creativity during the pandemic.
Also in lockdown, Annie-Sage created the 1940s, would-be Hollywood starlet character, "Kitten Solloway" performing 50+ weekly livestreams on @SociallyDistantImprov before 2021's in-person appearances at AsylumNYC, QED and The Brick Theater.
