Candlelight Dinner Playhouse presents The Wizard of Oz, initially an adaptation of the 1900 book, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," by L. Frank Baum. This Royal Shakespeare adaption is perhaps the most well-known due to how closely it mirrors the 1939 movie starring Judy Garland.

The Candlelight Dinner Playhouse is proud to present the Royal Shakespeare Company version of 'The Wizard of Oz' by Frank Baum with book adaptation by John Kane and with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. This adaptation follows the famous MGM musical the closest of any stage adaptation. This production is the last show of Candlelight's award-winning Season 8 and plays July 21 through September 11, 2016.
11th Annual Henry Awards Nominees Announced!
The Colorado Theatre Guild's 11th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 18, 2016 at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue in Parker, Colorado. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and the awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an after-party. Tickets are $23 for CTG members (limit 2 per person online with the code Henry2016), $30 non-members or $50 VIP. Denver Center for the Performing Arts announces the 2016 recipients for The Bobby G Awards, a regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Charlotte Movizzoand Curtis Salinger, the 2016 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, progress to represent Colorado atThe National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Charlotte Movizzo played Charity Hope Valentine in Ponderosa High School's production of Sweet Charity. Curtis Salinger played Emmett Forrest in Durango High School's production of Legally Blonde.
Finalists Announced for the Fourth Annual Bobby G Awards; Ceremony to Take Place, 5/26
Finalists for the fourth annual Bobby G Awards were released this afternoon. The awards program, which culminates in a Tony Awards-style ceremony and performance on May 26 at the Buell Theatre, celebrates outstanding achievement in high-school musical theatre in Colorado. This year the program was expanded to include 40 schools across Colorado, up from 30 the year before.
