Secret Theatre Announces THE MERCHANT OF VENICE

Fresh from receiving six New York Innovative Theatre nominations for A Chorus Line the team of Richard Mazda  [A Chorus Line, Richard III] and Alberto Bonilla [To Protect The Poets, Richard III] follow their wildly successful award winning Richard III with a production of The Merchant or Venice.  This is one of two Shakespeare productions this coming season at The Secret with the team of Mazda/Bonilla with a production of King Lear featuring beloved character actor Austin Pendleton going up in March 2017.
Pentangle Arts and ArtisTree Announce Collaboration on CATS

Pentangle Arts and ArtisTree are thrilled to announce the opening of their collaborative stage production of CATS The Musical. The show runs from April 29th to May 8th, 2016, and features local and professional talent. Both organizations are thrilled to offer this rare opportunity to see CATS The Musical in the Upper Valley -- before it returns to Broadway this summer! The music is composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the story is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, by T. S. Eliot. CATS ran on Broadway from 1982 to 2000, making it the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history.

Staatstheater Karlsruhe bringt Monty Python Musical SPAMALOT auf die Bühne

Britannien im Jahre 932 nach Christus: Spamalot erzahlt mit frechem Witz die Legende von Konig Arthur, der mit seinem Diener zur Suche nach dem Heiligen Gral aufbricht - ein Stoff wie in der Oper Parsifal. Unterstutzt wird der liebenswert-schrullige Monarch von den Rittern der Tafelrunde, einer schragen Truppe von Muttersohnchen und Mochtegern-Helden. Sie begegnen merkwurdigen Gestalten wie dem Schwarzen Ritter oder dem grausamen Kaninchen. Die Burg Camelot sieht aus wie ein LasVegas-Casino und Lancelot entpuppt sich als Samba-Tanzer. Selbstverstandlich gibt es auch eine Liebesgeschichte - und die Kunstform Musical wird mit viel Herz parodiert. Das Stuck beruht auf der Komodie Die Ritter der Kokosnuss der legendaren Komikertruppe Monty Python, die gerade in London ihr Revival gefeiert hat. Die Geschichte wurde von Eric Idle mit Monty-Python Sketchen und Songs wie Always Look on the Bright Side of Life angereichert. Am Broadway gewann Monty Python's Spamalot drei Tony Awards, darunter als bestes Musical.

A team of experienced pros with extensive Broadway, regional and TV experience, will perform the hilarious, madcap comedy RUMORS, by Neil Simon, at the Saint Michael's Playhouse today, July 17 to 27. The show will be staged, evenings at 8 p.m. July 17 to 20, and 23-27 and matinees at 2 p.m. July 20 and 27.
