New York Festival of Song's 2013-14 Edition of 'NYFOS Next' Concludes with HAROLD MELTZER Tonight

Tonight, April 1 at 7:30pm at Opera America's National Opera Center, New York Festival of Song concludes its 2013-14 edition of NYFOS Next-the series for new song in which composers curate and host an hour of contemporary song-with celebrated composer HAROLD MELTZER.
Sherman Chamber Ensemble Concerts to Include Tribute to Sandy Hook Victims, 4/26-27

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is honored to announce that its annual spring program will feature "Dawn," a work created by the talented young composer Paul Frucht in tribute to slain Sandy Hook principal Dawn Hochsprung. Performances will take place at the Jewish Community Center in Sherman on Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 PM and on Sunday, April 27 at 3:00 PM at the Brookfield Library. Also on the program will be works for flute, harp, clarinet, violin and cello by J.S. Bach, Handel, Muczynski, Wourinen and David Brandenburg, along with selections from the American Songbook.
Peninsula Symphony Orchestra Presents THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH This Weekend

The Peninsula Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Mitchell Sardou Klein, will continue its 65th anniversary season with a pair of concerts entitled 'Fountain of Youth' featuring the world premiere of a new Double Concerto for Cello, Clarinet and Orchestra by young composer and clarinetist Jonathan Russell with the composer and award-winning young cellist Nathan Chan as soloistsMarch 21 and 22 in San Mateo and Cupertino. The concerts will also include Grieg's In Autumn, the Intermezzo, Nocturne and Wedding March from Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream; Lalo's Cello Concerto with Nathan Chan and Debussy's Premiere Rapsodie for Clarinet and Orchestra with Jonathan Russell.The concerts will be given tonight, March 21, at 8 pm at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center and March 22, at 8 pm at Flint Center/DeAnza College.

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble concludes its 2013 Summer Concert Series tonight, August 30th at St. Andrew's Church in Kent and Saturday, August 31st at the Lake Mauweehoo Club in Sherman with a program of music for winds and strings, including the Mozart Clarient Quintet, Prokofiev's Quintet in G Minor, Opus 39 and the world premiere of a new commissioned work by SCE Artistic Director Eliot Bailen. Performers are Jo-Ann Sternberg (clarinet), Melanie Feld (oboe), Susan Rotholz (flute), Jill Levy and Robert Zubrycki (violin), Sarah Adams (viola), Eliot Bailen (cello) and Peter Weitzner (bass).
