GOD HELP THEM IF WE WAKE UP Comes to New Orleans This Year
The Walking Dead's Ann Mahoney, and D.C. theatre maven Gillian Shelly, have penned a new play. Recipients of The Carol Sutton/Sherri Marina Memorial Grant, they have also garnered a contribution of $37K in matching funds toward the first production of the piece. Described as 'A Beautiful Disaster Play with Feminist Cojones,' it is set to be performed in New Orleans, LA in November of this year.
THE WALKING DEAD Actress Joins CMT's MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
Ann Mahoney who plays 'Olivia' on one of televisions hottest shows, 'The Walking Dead', has been cast as 'Gladys Presley', Elvis Presley's mother, in the new television series 'Million Dollar Quartet'. Mahoney said, 'I'm so thrilled to be a part of this amazing cast and play such an iconic role. I'm grateful to CMT for giving me such a tremendous opportunity to be a part of this show.'

Southern Rep Theatre debuts Les Bon Temps Soiree: An Elegant Evening of Cabaret, tonight, June 4, at the Windsor Court Hotel starring Leslie Castay, New Orleans' own 'Queen of Cabaret.' Ms. Castay, accompanied by piano guru Jefferson Turner, takes the lead in an inspired evening of performances from our city's greatest musical talents and story tellers such as Troi Bechet, Jessie Terrebonne Thompson, Lisa Picone, Clint Johnson, Ann Mahoney, those wild ladies of burlesque, Fleur de Tease; and features the cast of NEXT TO NORMAL, Southern Rep's musical smash hit.

This May, Southern Rep presents two shows at the Contemporary Arts Center: the final production of their 2011-2012 25th Anniversary Season, SHIRLEY VALENTINE by Willy Russell, a one-woman play starring Ricky Graham; and ACADEMY SRT Children's Theatre Series THE VELVETEEN RABBIT, story by Margery Williams, play by Thomas W. Olsen, directed by Ann Mahoney Kadar. Recently displaced from their home of 20 years at Canal Place, they have received support from the Contemporary Arts Center's Performance Support Program.

Loyola Theatre Debuts Screwball Comedy ANTON IN SHOW BUSINESS, 2/8-12
The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at Loyola University New Orleans debuts the madcap comic play, "Anton in Show Business," a sharp, wry comedy based on three actresses who have been cast in an ill-fated production of Anton Chekhov's play, "The Three Sisters." The play will run in Loyola's Lower Depths Theater on Feb. 8, 9, 10, 11 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.
