As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical adaptation of the hit animated film, Anastasia will play its final performance on Sunday, March 31, 2019 after two successful years on Broadway. In honor of the show's incredible two-year run, we're living in the land of yesterday and taking a look back at the show's Broadway opening night in April 2017.
Cody Simpson Extends in ANASTASIA Through April 14
The producers of Anastasia have announced that Cody Simpson has extended his engagement in the hit musical for eight additional weeks. Simpson made his Broadway debut as "Dmitry" on November 29, 2018 and will continue to star in the Broadway production through April 14, 2019.
Constantine Germanacos and Penny Fuller Will Join the Company of ANASTASIA
Anastasia will welcome new cast members to the Broadhurst Theatre this winter. Beginning Tuesday, December 18, original company member Constantine Germanacos will rejoin the hit Broadway musical as "Gleb." Emmy Award Winner Penny Fuller will assume the role of the "Dowager Empress" the week of January 7.

Two-time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye will return to Broadway to play the 'Dowager Empress' in the hit Broadway musical ANASTASIA on September 28, 2018. Kaye will to take over for original company member Mary Beth Peil.

Mary Beth Peil will play her final performance as the "Dowager Empress" in the hit Broadway musical ANASTASIA on September 23, 2018. Peil is an original member of the Broadway company and was nominated for the 2017 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for her performance. She is a celebrated singer and stage and screen veteran, well known for her work in The King and I (Tony nomination), "Dawson's Creek" and "The Good Wife". Next, she can be seen starring in the acclaimed film "The Song of Sway Lake" opening in cinemas September 21, 2018.
